Wine Tourism in the Valdepeñas Designation of Origin
The Valdepeñas Designation of Origin has its own Wine Route and was a pioneer among the first itineraries promoted by ACEVIN, becoming a national benchmark in the development of quality wine tourism.
Valdepeñas was also a pioneer in wine tourism by hosting the 1st Congress of Wine Museums of Spain in 2002, which laid the foundations for the current Wine Museum Network. Visitors to the production area have the opportunity to experience Wine Culture first-hand through guided visits to wineries and the many wine museums that coexist throughout the region.

Wine tourism with its own identity
Valdepeñas’ wine tourism offer is structured around emblematic sites such as the Valdepeñas Wine Museum, the first major thematic wine centre established in Castilla-La Mancha in 1999. This offer also includes the Bodega-Museo, the public square of Bodegas A-7 and the Vieja Bodega de los Llanos, located in the former winery of Miguel Caravantes (1875) and its underground galleries.
On the outskirts of the Cerro de las Cabezas Archaeological Park, visitors can also discover historic caves, municipal museums, cultural spaces and foundations. This offer is further enriched by landmarks such as the Casa de los Vasco, listed as a Site of Cultural Interest.
Heritage, culture and gastronomy
Valdepeñas combines its winemaking tradition with a valuable historical heritage, a renowned gastronomy and a wide cultural offering that completes the wine tourism experience.
